Catechsim test . . .

Yes, first one in my starting of cat in my church. I have to learn fifteen questions and answers, which isn't too bad. But seeing I haven't started memorizing till today, and the quiz thing is tomorrow, I'd better get at it! I detest memorizing really, but here is what I have to memorize.

Q. Where do we learn about God and salvation?
A. From the Bible.

Q. What are the three main truths we must learn?
A. 1) How great our sin is.
2) How we must be saved from our sin.
3)How we must live in thankfulness.

Q. How can we describe the Bible?
A. The Bible is the inspired, clear, infallible, sufficient, and authoratative Word of God.

Q. What does the Bible teach aboput God?
A. That God is the only eternal and unchangeable Spirit, perfect and infinite in wisdom, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.

Q. What else do we learn from Him?
A. That He is the all-powerful, all-knowing and everywhere-present.

Q. Are there other Gods?
A. No, there is only one true and living God.

Q. Where do we find a short confession of all we should believe?
A. In the twelve articles of the Apostles Creed.

Q. How are these articles divided?
A. Into three parts:
1) First, of God the Father and our Creation
2) Second, of God the Son and our Redemption
3) Third, of God the Holy Spirit and our Sanctification

Q. If there is only one God why do we speak of the Father, Song and Holy Spirit?
A. Because in the Bible God speaks of Himself as three Persons in one Being.

Q. What does the Bible teach about creation?
A. That God made all things out of nothing in six days.

Q. How did He do that?
A. God spoke, and things came into being by His Word.

Q. How did God create man?
A. Out of the dust God made man male and female, in His own image.

Q. What do we mean by the providence of God?
A. That God upholds and governs all that He made.

Q. Does anything happen by chance?
A. No: for food and drink, health and sickness, riches and poverty and all things come not by chance but by His fatherly hand.

Q' How does God do this?
A. By His word and power.


That's what I have to memorize. A lot. Ah well, it will probably be good for me.
Anyways, I have to run. I have technique practice, celloo practice, choir, ballet, memorizing, and a party to go to tonight, so tata for now!

Hello hello!

I just wanted to tell you all about some great books I have been reading lately. One I'm reading right now is called Coronation of Glory, by Deborah Meroff. It's the story of Lady Jane Grey, a young girl who lived in the time of the Reformation. It's a true story, and it was really neat, because she corresponded in ehr life with great Reformers like, for instance, Zwingli of Switzerland. It's a really sad book too,, because at the time in her life, she's about 14, and in old England, all parents were worried about was marriage, and she was pushed into forced marriages and al that stuff. I highly recommend it to all of you!
Another one I'm reading at the moment is by an AMAZING writer, Ravi Zacharias. He was born in India, a place with 330 million different Gods, had a miserable childhood, but his Christian perspective and his testimony are absolutely astounding. He has soooooo much insight. Every Sunday morning he has radio broadcasts, and I encourage you to listen to them. For where I live (near London), the radio station is AM980. I hear it on Sunday mornings at 8:00-8:30, and the program is called, "Let my people think". He is an amazing Christian man and speaker. Anyways, the book I'm reading bu him is called Jesus Among Other Gods, and it talks about how we as teens (the book is directed to youth. I have the youth edition) can stand up for the God we believe in, and how we know if He's really true, compared to the Islamic, Hindu, and Buddihism beliefs. It's very interesting, and I recommend this book highly to all of you as well!
Another one I found in our collection of books is called Reasonable Faith, by Dr. Jay L. Wile. I'm sure all of you have heard about him before. He's the author of Exploring Creation with General Science, etc., science books. Anyways, this book looks really good. It talks about the Scientific Case for Christianity. I have to finish my other books thought before I read this one!
Anyways, those are some books you can look into and read!!!!!
Oh, and some cool websites I have found recently. I was looking for a site that translates quickly and easily, and there's a Goggle site that lets you type in the words, you can pick what you want to translate it too (there are tons of different languages), and you push the translate button, and POOF! It's really cool. The website is http://translate.google.com/translate_t .

Busy busy, and more busy

Story of my life. But it's good though. I prefer the more organized school year when I actually get things accomplished then the summer, when you feel like you've done nothing all day. Summer's awesome, but I think there's a bit too much of it!
I just got back from babysitting tonight. Aria had gym, that was my night! My *kids* were pretty good, although kinda grumpy. They were both tired I think.
And school's the same old school. I've done my writing for the week, and now I have to catch up on my Math. Science yet, and tomorrow I have a piano lesson in the morning, coach gymnastics in the afternoon, and harmony and voice lessons at night. Thursdays is a really busy day.
I'm reading a cool book right now called "Coronation of Glory". It's the true story of the Lady Jane Grey. It's really good. If you haven't read it before, I recommend it highly. The author isDeborah Meroff.
What else is there to say?
Ah yes, halloween's soon. Not that I've ever trick or treated before. But everyone makes such a huge deal about it. I find it a bit weird, but ah well. I mean, sure, ghosts and goblins and skeletons are scary, but do we really need to elaborate? And all these kids getting all this unhealthy candy. Maybe people should start handing out apples and oranges. But I don't think that would go over too well!
And all my music is going really well. I'm doing my Gr.9 piano in January and my harmony exam in May. I've already done my history exam, and there's a grade nien credit! Horray!!!!!!!!
All the songs I'm doing for my Gr.9 are absolutely GORGEOUS. Wow. I can't even describe them. I';m doing a Bach prelude and fugue, Haydn, Mendelssohn (that is the best piece ever. It almost brings me to tears! So emotional) and Copland for List D. It's actually a Gr.10 piece, but I'm supplementing it. You're aloud to do that.
Ballet is going well, as usual. I enjoy it so much! This past weekend there was a "bring a friend day", which everyone was excited about. I didn't really have anyone to bring, so I brought my little babysitting kid, and she was so adorable! She said, "You know, I need to be a prima ballerina." She is the cutest kid ever. And this past Saturday I brought Cho. She's so awesome though, that she made all of us look bad! lol No, it was awesome having her there!
And we all need to get together again! I haven't seen any of you in ages and ages!
Well, I've got to run. I have to give Aria a snack and put her to bed, and I want to get some technique practice and maybe some Math in before I head off to bed.

CANDY? most. I love rolos and peppermints. Droopjes are sickening.

DRINK? love hot chocolate and tea. Most pop. and orange juice is cool.
TV SHOW? I don't really watch TV. Except for when I'm working out downstairs and the occasional Saturday night hockey game.
ACTORS? Orlando Bloom, although I'm not a fanatic of him, and all the actors in Lord of the Rings. And the actors in Pirates of the Caribbean. Other than that, I don't know any actors!
JEWELRY? don't have too much of it. I do have a ring with a treble blef on it, and all that little jewelry stuff you get when you're little.
SPORTS? gymnastics, ballet, swimming, and I like watching hockey, not playing it. Other than that, I am what you call "sucky" at sports.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I've finally found some time to blog . . . . It's so good to be doing a post again! Today has actually been quite a relaxing day, so that was nice for a change! We just came home from a hike, which some of my friends went on as well, so that was fun. It was nice to be away from civilization for a while . . . in the middle of a woods. Quiet and peaceful.
But now back to reality.
Tonight there's going to be a scrapbooking night at my house, and Cho will be there, as well as some of my friends from the hike. I can't wait to see Cho again! And we might have a sleepover, which we haven't had in an AGE. So today is all exciting!!!!!!

I was thinking the other day about the holiness of God. The story in the Bible about Moses, when he went up the mountain and God showed him a bit of His glory through mighty rains and such, that when Moses came down from the mountain again, his face was shining so brightly from what he had just seen, that the people of Israel couldn't look at him. And that was just a bit of God's glory and holiness. We couldn't stand in our sinfulness before God. And that's why God sent a mediator, His Son, Jesus Christ. He came down to earth, was perfectly holy and never sinned. He died on the cross to save us from our sins, so we wouldn't have to suffer everlasting death. But it was set so clearly for me the other day. I think that's it's just so amazing!

Choral Connection Concert . . . .

IS HAPPENING AGAIN!
Choral Connection is an amazing choir (biased me, but it's true!) that Cho, Aria, Feanor, GilGalad, and I sing in. Those are the bloggers who sing in it anyways.
Our concert is on November 13, 2004, in St.Thomas (near London) and we all want you wonderful bloggers to come! I know some of you attended last year, and that was soooo awesome!
I don't have any info on ticket prices yet, because this is an advance notice. So please leave that date on your calenders open!
Please come!!!!!! That would be amazing to see you all again. We'll party after and all that awesome stuff too . . . .
